We recently announced the appointment of Christian Leon as their new Director of Investor Relations for South Florida. In his new role, Leon will be responsible for identifying and partnering with South Florida investors to determine the optimal investment strategy into Florida Funders’ early-stage technology startups.

“Christian brings a wealth of experience raising capital for wealth management at top organizations like J.P. Morgan and AllianceBernstein, which is valuable in leading our expansion efforts in South Florida,” said Saxon Baum, Vice President of Investor Relations at Florida Funders. “Christian will play a significant role in raising funds from the region’s top investors further establishing the organization as the top VC firm in the state and the Southeasttuu.”

Prior to Florida Funders, Leon worked as a banker at J.P. Morgan where he provided planning and investment advice to institutions, ultra-high-net-worth families, foundations, and endowments of significant wealth. Leon also partook in the ‘rising stars’ training program during his time at J.P. Morgan, which provided advanced coaching in negotiation, conflict management, presentation skills, ethics, networking and business etiquette.

His previous experience includes working at Evercore Partners, a global independent investment banking advisory firm, where he was hired to develop and train operating teams to support a $6 billion business and drive 15% year-over-year revenue growth. Leon also worked at AllianceBernstein, a global asset management firm, supporting two teams across a $3.3 billion business by leading business development strategies, deepening existing client  relationships, liaising with legal, marketing, research and compliance teams while monitoring quarterly targets.

“My primary focus at Florida Funders will be expanding the organization’s presence in South Florida and looking for new investment opportunities in this market that continues to rapidly grow,” said Leon. “I look forward to building Florida Funders’ presence and network throughout the South Florida region and further establish them as the top VC firm in the Southeast.”
