Announcing Returns for Peerfit and PikMyKid Investors

We’re thrilled to announce that our investments in both Peerfit and PikMyKid have generated returns for some of our investors.

The Story of Peerfit

Peerfit is a digital health platform that connects employers and carriers with personalized fitness experiences. On October 14th, they signed an agreement to sell its technology, source code, tech team members, and certain assets to a Nasdaq publicly traded company. Due to the purchase agreement, we are unable to disclose the name of the buyer at this time, but you can read some of the press related to the deal here

As a result of the arrangement, Peerfit has offered a partial shareholder redemption.   No equity was exchanged between Peerfit and the buyer; rather a licensing agreement remains between both parties as a result of the deal. Peerfit will continue serving its clients with its mission to redefine wellness by continuing to offer fully-funded flexible fitness experiences for users through their health insurance and employer benefits.

This exit represents a milestone for Florida Funders and strongly illustrates the level at which the fund’s senior partners engage with their portfolio companies. Marc Blumenthal, co-founder and partner at Florida Funders, discovered Peerfit in 2016 and since that time, has worked tirelessly with the company’s CEO, Edward J. Buckley to help guide their growth and refine their business model. Florida Funders led the first round of investment in Peerfit and has made follow-on investments in the past four years.

“This has been a nearly five-year journey with Ed and PeerFit, and rarely a week has gone by where I have not spoken to Ed as an advisor, sounding board, cheerleader, or friend,” Blumenthal said. “This transaction is a substantial win in the Peerfit story and we’re excited to see how far they will go.”

PikMyKid

PikMyKid is the first and only safe & smart dismissal solution for school districts, charter/private schools, after-school programs, YMCAs, JCCs, Summer camps, and daycare facilities. It connects schools, teachers, and parents through real-time tools to make dismissals safer and more efficient.

As of October 13th, 2020, Sachi Tech Inc (dba PikMyKid) (“PMK”) and its Board of Directors, approved a third party sale of Florida Funders shares in the Company. PikMyKid will continue operations, and we’re thrilled that we were able to support them on their journey.
